Please describe your company and your position there.
Currently, I am the Team Lead of Product & Quality for a Telehealth solution that provides services to Post-Acute and Acute Care facilities. Additionally, I was a Product Owner for a Population Health Management company and worked with VITech on multiple projects for multiple companies.
For what projects/services did your company hire VITech, and what were your goals?
For Telehealth, we hired VITech for a year to take over full development of our telehealth web application. Among many things, we needed to transition the development team, and company mindset, to an agile way of working.
For PHM, i worked with VITech on multiple projects and multiple solutions over 8 years. Including an at market PHM quality measure reimbursement web app with a BigData population segmentation tool and a pre-market global population segmentation solution that integrated with global analytical solutions and global national health systems.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
VITech was founded along with the original PHM start-up company i worked with. Over the years of partnership they have again and again proven themselves to be top of their class in collaboration, skills, performance and quality to name a few. I would recommend them to any company of any size who is in any stage of their growth who wants to have a collaborative partnership with the development team.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
My companies have integrated with 3rd party (national and international) EMRs, SAML SSO, clinical examination platform and video vendors. Architecture review and assessment would begin after initial solution requirements were gathered then we’d move to team review, estimates and committing to the timelines agreed upon for delivery. Technologies included, but were not limited to, JAVA, Angular, mySQL, BigData, Hadoop, AWS, Sisense, Microservices, RabbitMQ, Python, Kafka, Terraform, Elasticsearch, Docker, Grafana and Git.
How many people from the vendor’s team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Over the years, I’ve worked with at least 7 different scrum teams (varying in size from 5-11 team members) and multiple individual people consisting of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Lead Developer/Architects, Full Stack Developers, Front End Developers, Back End Developers, DevOps Engineers, Automation/Manual QAs, Technical Writers, and UX Designers.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Every thing VITech developed for all of my companies delivered value to our clients and was of the highest of quality.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Communication is key and early communication is invaluable. VITech communicated regularly during SCRUM ceremonies and used Slack, JIRA, Azure DevOps and/or Skype (basically whatever our company was using) as an open line of communication at all times. They were responsive even if an ask/question was noted as not high priority and that it could wait until the next day.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
It is very clear that the team members at VITech really love what they do and it shows in the products they deliver. If you want a true partnership with a company that will care about your company as much as you do, look no further.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing comes to mind.
